The Energy Incident: Ending Political Insider Trading And Revolving Door Bribes In Public Policy

U.S. Senators owned those competitors and were compensated by those competitors. SEC, FBI and FTC investigations of those conflicts-of-interest by public offficials are under-way.

The Tech Cartel packed the White House and the Department of Energy with their employees, who were ordered to harm their competitors and hand out taxpayer funds to their bosses. It was the dirtiest forms of corruption.

The energy industry operates in partnership with the military/industrial complex and has a cash transaction value of hundreds of trillions of dollars involving multi-billion dollar lobbyist operatives, industry control groups, black-lists and 'favored-nations' suppliers.

During the course of our work we, were asked, by government authorities, to assist with an investigation of energy industry manipulations by well-known public officials and their Silicon Valley financiers. Tens of billions of dollars of insider trading, stock market rigging, anti-trust violations and RICO violations, by crooked officials, were exposed. Active investigations of those cases continue to this day and a number of public officials have been sued and/or terminated for engaging in the related corruption. The famous FBI raid of 'Solyndra', the 60 Minutes episodes about the cases, the Fusion GPS and Black Cube investigations and the many Congressional investigations of the matters have now revealed many of the details to the public...".

It is rechargeable and can store many times the energy contained in a standard lead-acid battery or pressurized gas cylinder. This exchangeable methodology ensures broad adoption due to its ease of use and provides developers with a readily available solution to supplying fuel to mobile systems. In addition, the flexibility to use different chemistries within the cassette supports its adoption across multiple applications having different performance requirements such storage capacity, size and weight. The system incorporates the production of energy on-board, the storage of energy in a solid state, the release of energy and the production of that storage media into electricity, all in one system which is modular and scalable. Energy production from water can now be delivered efficiently due to nano technology optimization of traditional production components.

Holy Cross’ embrace of autonomous grid control software shows that proliferation of distributed renewable energy systems isn’t necessarily a mortal threat to electric utilities. From a utility’s perspective, the growth of rooftop solar panels, battery storage, and other distributed energy systems made it more challenging to efficiently and reliably provide electric power. The Basalt Vista experiment may be small, but it’s proving that it’s possible to autonomously control distributed renewable energy systems so that they augment the grid’s reliability.

“In most places, it’s still a challenge for utilities to figure out how to use distributed resources at scale,” says Chaz Teplin, an electricity practice manager at the Rocky Mountain Institute, an independent sustainability research organization. “I think what Holy Cross is doing is really great because they’re taking a collaborative approach where everyone can benefit from what they’re bringing to the table.”

Escobar says living in an energy experiment has its perks. In addition to the environmental benefits of living in a home that produces as much power as it uses, she says it's also easy on her family’s bank account. During the summer, Escobar says her electricity bills were just $12 per month. The bills were higher during the winter because the house requires more electricity to run its heaters, but Escobar says she expects to see significant savings on her electric bill averaged over the course of a year. “Living in an affordable house with net zero energy use is great for the environment and our finances,” Escobar says. “I hope this model is replicable in other places.”

Basalt Vista is pioneering autonomous control of renewable energy systems, but it’s hardly the only utility exploring virtual power plants. In Utah, a new 600-unit apartment complex was outfitted with solar panels and battery storage that provides backup power and demand response for the local utility, Rocky Mountain Power.

So far, the results from virtual power plant trials have been promising. They help utilities and their customers save money, increase the amount of renewable energy systems on the grid, and bolster the resiliency of local power networks. Each of these trials has been relatively small, but the advent of autonomous grid control technologies points to a future where everyone’s house can also be a power plant.

The are many articles about that one intriguing case, ie: "...After enduring Fusion GPS and Black Cube-type attacks and anti-trust violating measures by the tech oligarchs, the victims said "enough is enough..."

With an idea suggested to the victims by the members of Congress, the victims, essentially; helped the United States government "sue itself"! With encouragement from Congressional staff, they undertook a multi-million dollar, decade-long, epic series of public-interest, anti-corruption lawsuits, financed by public-interest efforts.

First, with a unique new kind of pioneering federal lawsuit, victims established, in federal court, — FOR THE FIRST TIME IN LEGAL HISTORY — that political cronyism is a valid basis for a claim of arbitrary-and-capricious agency action under the Administrative Procedure Act. See: Federal Case One, (D.D.C. 2015). The victims created new federal law around this.

Second, they prevailed in the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on their appeal of the district court’s ruling that an agency may escape judicial review of its action by requesting a voluntary remand but refusing to reconsider its initial denial of an application. See: Case Federal Two, (D.C. Cir. 2017). The Washington DC Circuit agreed with the victims that an agency may only seek a remand if it promises to reconsider its initial decision. It is because of that victory that the government, under court order is now re-doing the victims applications and GAO, FBI, IG's and Congressional oversight offices are watching to assure effective ethics and transparency.

Third, these cases placed, on permanent public record, one of the most detailed documentation sets, ever assembled, about how modern political West Coast "Dark Money" conduits operate. The legal team hired ex-FBI, CIA and SEC experts to track down covert bank accounts, revolving door bribes, insider stock trades and other payola between the victim's competitors and public officials. This documentation now prevents the use of those kinds of criminal efforts, in the future, by exposing the oligarchs tactics to the public.

Fourth, the victim's team engaged in the interdiction and termination of corrupt agency executives, contractors and their financiers. This included some of the most well-known names in Washington, DC, at the time. Many of them were, and are still being, investigated and surveilled by the FBI, GAO, SEC and Congress. In the course of this case, victims campaigned for the new law called THE AMERICAN JOBS ACT which created the first SEC approval of legal "Crowd-Funding", which allowed start-ups to get funding without going through the Palo Alto "Vulture Capitalists". Eric Holder was the top attorney on the federal side. He was terminated mid-case. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu was sued personally in this case and quit. Rogue CIA outfit: In-Q-Tel, (financiers and technology suppliers to Facebook and Google), were sued and a federal audit of their status was filed for with Congress and they were forced to close their Silicon Valley office. The FBI is still investigating them.

Fifth, and most important, the effort put every corrupt political scheme on notice that they WILL be found out and interdicted!

Did political contributors snag quid-pro-quo stimulus funds for cleantech companies?

Political contributors might have steered clean energy loans from the U.S. Department of Energy to companies in their investment portfolios, according to a report by the Center for Public Integrity and ABC News.

The report suggested that four companies that Steve Westley, a managing partner at clean technology investment firm The Westley Group, has invested in received more than $500 million in loans, grants and stimulus money from the Department of Energy after Westley contributed $500,000 to the Obama campaign. The companies in Westley’s portfolio that received federal funding are Tesla Motors, RecycleBank, EdeniQ and Amyris Biotechnologies.

Both Amyris Biotechnologies and Tesla Motors have since gone public. Amyris is valued at $1.2 billion and Tesla Motors is valued at $2.5 billion. Westley said that the companies in his portfolio went through a strict screening process and were awarded each loan based on merit, and that each received the loan before he was an advisor to U.S.Department of Energy secretary Steven Chu, according to the report.

The Department of Energy also made several loans to companies that Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers has invested in. Managing partner John Doerr and other executives from the storied venture capital firm have donated more than $1 million over the past two decades to federal political causes — mostly to Democrats.

The report doesn’t make any direct connections and doesn’t offer substantial proof that the companies received special consideration because of Westley and the other executives’ contributions. So, as usual, correlation does not imply causation. But it’s worth keeping an eye on — particularly because Westley is a member of Chu’s 12-person advisory board, and Doerr is on the Economic Recovery Advisory Board.
